I don’t know about you, but I have poetry books on my desk at work.
Sure. I work for a poetry site. But I also adjust claims for a living. It’s a shared workspace, and the claim adjuster in me is just fine if the book shelf alternates between textbooks on contract analysis and risk management and slim volumes of poems by Adrienne Rich and Billy Collins.
So I suppose, in a way, I get to bring my poets to work every day. This summer at Tweetspeak Poetry, we’re celebrating Take Your Poet to Work Day and inviting you to bring your favorite poet along wherever you happen to be working on July 17.
Each week we will release a new featured poet that you can cut out, color, and take along in your tool belt, briefcase, or shirt pocket. Maybe your poet will sit in your pencil cup. Or maybe she’ll hang around your computer screen.

Come play with us (and poetry) and Take Your Poet to Work.
